Why Study History?

Kia ora welcome back to my blog.

I have been learning about why we should learn about history we had to make a paragraph about some questions.

Here is my work.

Why Study History?

Studying history is important because we can learn from the past and be a change champion. 3 Historic events I am familiar with in Aotearoa  are the first earthquake, the second earthquake and the Treaty of Waitangi but some ones that have happened more recently is quarantine, shootings and the Port Hills fire. We are listening to chapters from Gavin Bishop’s book ‘Piano Rock’ he says he values his heritage because his mother was Tainui (from the Waikato) and he learnt lots from her stories about ancestors and was inspired by her ideas.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Kind regards
Luke

  1. Champion work Luke!:-) I think it's great that you used the term 'change champion' in relation to how we can learn from studying history. I hope you get to read more of Gavin Bishop's books (there are some in the school library).
