I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 7 and in 2021 I will be a year 8. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.
Impressive effort Luke. I can see you took the subject matter seriously and thought deeply about some of the issues. I like your use of Te Whiti's words to help emphasise the situation as it was then. Did you think about the significance of raukura at the time? Good job!:-)
KIa ora Luke That's a very cool DLO. Like Mrs A I love the way you used Te Whiti's words. The story of Parihaka is one that 'makes my blood boil' (have you heard that phrase before? It means this makes me very angry). The Parihaka story reminds us that we must fight injustice wherever we see it. What has happened in and about Parihaka in the past few years? Great work - ka mau te wehi!! Kia tau te mauri
This is amazing work Luke. I have been learning about Parihaka myself, while helping in Year 7 and 8 classes. A very sad part of our countries past. Do you think that investigating this topic has made you want to learn more about NZ history?
